The Stative Voice

When the passive form express an existing state rather than an action . It is called the "stative voice".
Stative passives are verb-like words that follow "be" in sentences and functions as adjectives.
Pattern : 
Be + interested (in)
         impressed (by) + noun 
         married (to)

Example :
Vita is interested in reading novels.

Here some other example :

  1. Tony is hungry (adjective)
  2. Tony is interested in traditional art ( stative passive)
  3. Tony's leg is broken ( stative passive)
  4. Arman is satisfied with his job  ( stative passive)
  5. Jane is married to Jhon  ( stative passive)
The passive form may be used to describe an existing situation or state. No action is taking place. The action happened before. There is no "by" phrase.

Examples :
  1. William broke the window,. Now the window is broken ( It indicates the condition of the window)
  2. I locked the door five minutes ago. Now, the door is locked. (It indicates the condition of the door)
  3. Rio and Anna got married in 2003. Now they are married. (It indicates their current condition is married.
